Dopamine decor is the hottest trend of the summer, with searches up 176% since last year with people looking to brighten up their home.

We analysed Google search volume data and found a substantial rise in people searching for dopamine decor for their home.

The study shows that people are interested in refreshing their decor for the summer, bringing sunshine into their rooms with colourful art prints to make their walls more vibrant for the summer season. While neutral colours such as grey and beige are still popular, consumers are choosing to add a splash of colour to their walls in a modern and contemporary way.

"We have seen an increased interest with our dopamine prints, and people are choosing artwork based around bright and bold colours. For the coming season, people are choosing colour over monochromatic styles, putting vibrance into their home in a really affordable way," said Michael Adams, founder of Veranito.

The colour of what homeowners are putting on their wall not only reflects mood but also psychology, with some colours more popular than others.

Those looking to create a sense of power, love or high energy are utilising red in their decor, with searches up over 62%. With a 30% rise in green wall art people are looking to bring the outdoors inside are choosing hues of green, creating a room of serenity and nature. 
Yellow decor has surged in popularity with over 162% in searches in the past year. It's incredibly popular, a colour linked to happiness and energy, two traits which are synonymous with summer. 

Homeowners looking to add some calm vibes to their walls are choosing blue wall art, with searches up over 60%, in contrasting high energy colour orange, which has seen an increase of 75% year on year.
