The Most Expensive Metro Station Is Ilford Road

The most expensive Metro stop for houses is Ilford Road in Gosforth with the average house price being £407,000. Gosforth is an expensive area of Newcastle, so this is no surprise.

Other areas in Gosforth fair better, with South Gosforth being £330,000 and Regent Centre £270,000. Wansbeck Road comes in at only £220,000, making it one of the cheapest in the area.

One crazy thing to see is the average price difference between North Shields and Tynemouth. The average house price in North Shields is £203,000, with Tynemouth being £353,000.

That's a huge difference of £150,000 and only 1 metro stop between them.

Methodology

Here's how we created the data: Veranito Prints the home of posters, wall art and prints took the average price of all houses & flats from within 1/2 mile radius of the Metro station, and re-created a version of the metro map. In situations where stations were close together or a large housing area, we used 1/4 mile radius for a more accurate average price.

Since the west end of Newcastle isn't included on the metro, we've created a new line which includes the average house prices for thse areas. This is shown with a grey-dash line.

These results are pretty crazy, and we can see some huge differences in prices, including some massive price gaps from one station to the next.
